Greetings!! I am more than excited to welcome you into the world of Epiphany Events!

I am delighted that you are joining me as I celebrate firsts – my first blog post and the first anniversary of Marcus & Tracy Beard! As things have been coming together in my social media world (website, twitter, business Facebook page…and now the blog), I realized that this debut would coincide with a day that holds special meaning and memories for two very special people…and for me! When I plan a wedding, the bride and groom hold a special place in my heart. Months of vision casting, vendor searching and decision-making can really bring people close and these lovely people were no exception.

One year ago, I was honored to execute the wedding day of two beautiful, fun, intelligent, caring and all-around great people. I had the pleasure of meeting Tracy several years ago when my family moved to Nashville, Tennessee. My father became the Pastor of the church that Tracy’s family attended. Time passed and a couple of years ago, Tracy contacted me to inquire about hiring me to be her planner. I was honored!

Planning began. A pivotal move in the decision-making process was the choice of color. Tracy came to me with a color palette already chosen. From there, I began to build wedding elements around those colors. After a few meetings and each new set of vision pictures, I noticed that Tracy kept choosing images with teal. On the day that I pointed it out, she was wearing teal! We talked, she thought about it, and by the next meeting, the wedding color was teal!! The color palette developed to include the colors in the peacock feather.  Along with natural beauty and vibrancy of the peacock palette, Tracy and Marcus settled on the theme of Live, Laugh, Love – three words that describe them very well! So, the planning continued…all the way to August 20, 2011!

On that special day, my lovely and calm bride arrived and was ready for makeup…

…and decked out in her fierce, peacock stilettos  — a sign of her fun personality!

My groom arrived relaxed and ready to marry his bride!

Anticipatory joy before and satisfactory exuberance afterward! (I love that the photographer captured this moment in this perspective!)

A touch of the peacock teal love!

One of the awesome things about this couple  – their dedication to fun! From the very beginning of our planning, Marcus and Tracy told me that they wanted a Chicago Bulls-style reception entrance! I love when a couple makes the wedding day their own!

They didn’t stop at their exciting entrance. A few moments into their traditional first dance as husband and wife, their music changed and they “rocked the reception”!! Look at those faces!! They worked it out!

When it came to cutting the cake, Tracy knew exactly what to do, dig in!!

As I reflect on the fun times of their special day, I am reminded of their lighthearted attitude, sweet friendship and great love and I am grateful to have been a part of that! May we all approach our days with the same theme – to LIVE, to LAUGH & to LOVE!!

I wish Mr. and Mrs. Beard a most amazing and wonderfully Happy First Anniversary!!
